Mounties in Banff are looking for a suspect who held up a bank on Wednesday morning.
RCMP were called to the Bow Valley Credit Union on Banff Avenue around 9:40 a.m. for reports of an armed robbery.
Police say a male suspect entered the bank, displayed a gun, and demanded money from both the cash tills and the vault. The suspect left the scene on foot before officers arrived.
No injuries were reported.
The suspect was described as wearing a black puffy jacket, blue jeans, white running shoes, and carrying a red Canadian Tire grocery bag. His face was covered with a blue surgical mask.
Investigators are seeking any information or video footage—such as dashcam or doorbell recordings—from the area of Beaver Street and Caribou Street between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. on the day of the incident.
The Airdrie RCMP Detachment believes this man has hit other locations in the province as well.
They believe he held up a bank in Red Deer on Sept. 25 and a Servus Credit Union in Airdrie on Sept. 27.
Officers think it’s the same person based on his manner and physical description. He’s also worn a blue surgical mask during some of the robberies.
Anyone with relevant information is asked to call Banff RCMP at 403-763-6600.
