Two men charged in Calgary deli arson; one suspect still at large

Police have charged two Calgary residents in relation to a fire that occurred earlier this year at a local deli.
On July 8, a fire was reported at Alberta Halal Meat & Iraqi Street Food near Memorial Drive and 36 Street SE.
The Calgary Fire Department responded and extinguished the blaze. The incident was deemed suspicious, prompting an investigation by the Calgary police.
Following the investigation, two individuals have been charged.
Gabriel Maurice Kandalaft, 18, has been charged with one count of arson. He is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 8.
David Carlton Deveau, 49, faces one count of arson and one count of break and enter. Police have issued warrants for his arrest and are asking for help from the public locating him.
Deveau is described as approximately 5’10” tall, weighing around 150 lbs., with a slim build, light-brown hair, and blue eyes.
