Beach Boys biographer reflects amid 25th Anniversary reissue of Brian Wilson: Live at the Roxy Theatre

David Leaf knows the Beach Boys and Brian Wilson better than most.

He’s written two books on the band, including 1978’s The Beach Boys and the California Myth, which gave a first-hand account of the behind-the-scenes tensions and family history.

He followed that up with SMiLE: The Rise, Fall & Resurrection of Brian Wilson, which came out on Apr. 15 of this year.
