Pedestrian struck by vehicle in NW rushed to hospital: Calgary police

A pedestrian was injured after Calgary police say they were hit by a vehicle in Northwest Calgary Monday evening. Micah Quintin reports.

A pedestrian has been rushed to hospital in life-threatening condition after a vehicle struck them in the city’s northwest Monday.

Calgary police say they responded to the incident on 16 Avenue between 4 and Centre streets at around 6:30 p.m.

Officers say the driver remained at the scene. No other injuries have been reported.

EMS says the victim was rushed to hospital in life-threatening condition.

Roads going eastbound on 16 Avenue were closed as police attended the scene. They reopened at around 10 p.m.

The cause is under investigation.
