A Calgary man is facing charges, accused by police of driving erratically in the city’s southeast last weekend.
Officers were conducting proactive patrols on Sunday, Nov. 30 when, around 11 p.m., they saw a 2010 Ford F350 truck with a stolen license plate driving in the wrong direction on 110 Avenue SE.
Police attempted a traffic stop, but the driver didn’t stop.
While the suspect wasn’t speeding, police saw them driving the wrong way on several roads. Because of this unsafe behaviour, HAWCS was engaged to watch the vehicle without putting the public at risk.
Police eventually observed the driver going into a home on 104 Street, south of Highway 22X.
Ultimately, he surrendered to police and was arrested.
Officers searched the home and seized three pellet guns.
Cody Scott Lloyd Mander, 37, has since been charged with one count of flight from a peace officer, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, possession of stolen property under $5,000, driving while unauthorized, driving while uninsured, and displaying a license plate improperly.
His next court date is Jan. 9.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact police at 403-266-1234 or tip anonymously through CrimeStoppers.
Calgarians are also encouraged to report any suspicious driving activity to police.
