Calgary man facing charges after allegedly selling drugs near Drop-In Centre

A months-long police investigation has led to drug and weapons charges against a Calgary man after officers seized drugs, cash, jewelry, and a loaded gun from multiple locations.
In September, Calgary police began investigating a man suspected of selling drugs in the East Village near the Calgary Drop-In Centre.
Officers observed the suspect driving a Mercedes Benz to and from a storage facility in the community of Inglewood, where he was seen engaging in what appeared to be drug trafficking.
Investigators later confirmed the man had rented a unit at the facility and had accessed it frequently for short periods.
Police obtained search warrants and seized multiple items from the storage unit, the suspect’s residence in the East Village, and the Mercedes Benz.
Seizures from the storage unit included:
- A loaded handgun
- 1.3 kilograms of cocaine
- 32.6 grams of fentanyl
- 141.4 grams of methamphetamine
- 70.9 grams of suspected MDMA
- 357 pills suspected to be fentanyl
- 5.9 kilograms of buffering agent
- Drug packaging materials and a digital scale
Seizures from the residence included:
- Two cell phones
- $885 cash and a currency counter
- Jewelry believed to be proceeds of crime, valued at approximately $300,000
- Rolex authentication paperwork
- Suspected MDMA and cocaine
Seizures from the Mercedes Benz:
- One cell phone
- Ray-Ban Meta glasses
- Rolex authentication paperwork
As a result, Co Vi Huynh, 42, of Calgary, is facing seven charges related to drug trafficking and weapon possession. He is scheduled to appear in court in January.
