Man critically injured in SE Calgary crash

A man was rushed to hospital in life‑threatening condition Monday afternoon after a single‑vehicle crash in southeast Calgary.

Emergency crews were called to the area of Mount Douglas Close SE and Mount McKenzie Drive SE around 12:35 p.m. for reports of a collision.

When officers arrived, they found a man in medical distress. Paramedics transported the man to hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

Images from the scene suggest a pickup truck crashed head-on into a tree on the side of the road.

Police say neither speed, alcohol, nor drugs played a role in the crash.

Traffic in the area is expected to be disrupted throughout the after‑school commute as officers continue to examine the scene.
