One person is recovering in hospital after being hit by a vehicle in Calgary’s northeast Monday night.
Calgary police say officers responded to the intersection of Métis Trail and Cityscape Boulevard NE shortly before 7:30 p.m.
According to investigators, a GMC Sierra being driven by a woman in her 30s was heading northbound on Metis Trail through the intersection at 104 Avenue NE at the same time a man in his 50s was crossing the street from west to east.
The man was struck and rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver was not hurt and stayed at the scene.
Police say speed and impairment are not believed to be factors in the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
Area roads were closed for several hours but have since re-opened.
