Calgary police are warning residents after a series of break‑and‑enters last month that investigators believe may be tied to travelling crime groups targeting homes across the city.
Officers responded to three similar incidents between Dec. 5 and Dec. 13, 2025, each involving forced entry, ransacked bedrooms, and a focus on high‑value jewelry and luxury goods.
The three incidents took place in the communities of Hamptons, Edgemont, and Monterey Park:
- Sometime between Dec. 5 and Dec. 8, a residence on Hamptons Grove NW was broken into after a suspect damaged a patio door and window. Police say the intruder went straight for the primary bedrooms and made off with expensive jewelry.
- Around 5 p.m. on Dec. 6, officers were called to a home on Edenwold Drive NW. A rear sliding door had been smashed, and the suspect searched all three bedrooms, rifling through drawers and closets. Investigators say it’s still unclear whether anything was stolen, as valuables such as electronics, keys, vehicles, and jewelry were left behind.
- A week later, on Dec. 13 at about 5:40 p.m., two men reportedly climbed a fence to access a backyard on California Blvd NE. They smashed a rear sliding door to get inside and stole luxury accessories along with $300 in cash before fleeing.
In all three cases, police noted that electronic and easily traceable items were ignored, and homeowners were away at the time. Investigators believe the incidents share enough similarities to suggest the involvement of a travelling crime group.
A grey or silver 2024/2025 Toyota Sienna XSE is believed to be connected to the suspects. The vehicle was spotted in the northwest between Dec. 5 and 8, in Edgemont around 5 p.m. on Dec. 6, and in Monterey Park around 5:40 p.m. on Dec. 13.
With investigative leads now exhausted, police are asking the public for help identifying the suspects or the vehicle.
