Mystery attacker sought after front door assault in SE Calgary

Calgary Police are looking for this man believed to involved in an assault at a home in the southeast earlier this month.

Police are asking the public to help identify a suspect after a knock at the door turned violent in southeast Calgary earlier this month.

Calgary police say that around 2:25 p.m. on Jan. 15, 2026, an unknown man walked up to a home on Copperhead Way SE in the community of Copperfield and began pounding on the front door.

When the homeowners answered, the man demanded to speak with someone whose name they didn’t recognize.

After being told that no such person lived there, the man at the door allegedly assaulted one of the homeowners, sparking a brief struggle before he ran off and fled in a dark‑coloured sedan.

Investigators have been unable to identify the suspect and are now turning to the public for help.

Photos released by police show a man believed to be in his 30s, about 6 feet tall, with a medium build, short dark hair and a beard. At the time of the assault, he was wearing a dark jacket over a light‑coloured top.
