A Calgary man is facing multiple charges after officers were forced to ram his truck to bring it to a stop following a wrong-way chase over the weekend.
Police say the incident began around 12:45 a.m. on Sunday, when patrol members spotted a suspicious Ford F-350 near 96 Avenue NE and Stoney Trail.
According to investigators, the driver immediately tried to flee, steering the pickup the wrong way down the Country Hills Boulevard exit ramp.
Officers reported the truck continued heading the wrong way along Stoney Trail, weaving past police vehicles with their lights activated, speeding through a construction zone, and driving along the median at 90 km/h.
Police say the risk to the public became so severe that officers intentionally made contact with the truck to stop it, ultimately managing to box it in and arrest the driver.
The chase caused significant damage to police vehicles, though no one was injured.

Zeshan Ahmad, 32, of Calgary, is now charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, flight from a police officer, failing to comply with an undertaking, failing to comply with a release order, and several Traffic Safety Act violations.
He is scheduled to appear in court in February.
