Grass fire call reveals unidentified human remains in southern Alberta

Southern Alberta emergency crews have found human remains in a burned vehicle just south of Eden Valley, an hour and a half south of Calgary.

The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit is investigating after human remains were discovered Wednesday in southern Alberta.

Around 9 p.m., the Foothills Fire Department, Diamond Valley Fire Department, and High River Fire Department responded to reports of a grass fire south of Eden Valley.

Once crews were able to extinguish the fire, they uncovered a burned vehicle with unidentified human remains inside.

No further information is available at this time.

Eden Valley is about an hour and a half southwest of Calgary.
