Calgarians asked to share feedback for elevated Green Line LRT through downtown

Calgarians are being asked to share their feedback on the proposed elevated Green Line LRT segment through the Beltline and downtown.

The City of Calgary says the concept, now entering a new phase of public engagement, will influence how people move, connect, and experience the core for decades.

From Feb. 9 to March 2, residents can learn more about the elevated route proposal and share their thoughts through several engagement opportunities. These include an online survey, virtual information sessions on Feb. 10 and 28, and in‑person drop‑ins at Memorial Park Library from Feb. 18 to 22.

Mayor Jeromy Farkas acknowledges the concept has already sparked major questions from residents and businesses, particularly around the elevated structure’s impact on the Beltline. He says he also wants to see more detail on the proposed “Grand Central Station,” noting its potential as a future anchor for airport access and even the Calgary‑to‑Banff rail line.

City officials say feedback gathered over the coming weeks will help refine the design and ensure the project reflects what matters most to Calgarians.

More information on the concept and all engagement opportunities is available on the City of Calgary’s website.
