SE Calgary spa employee charged in alleged sexual assault during waxing appointment

Calgary police have charged an employee of a SE nail salon and spa with sexual assault after a customer says they were touched in an inappropriate manner last month.

An employee at a southeast Calgary nail salon and spa is facing charges after police say they sexually assaulted a customer during a waxing appointment.

Police say the victim had an appointment at Shawnessy Nails Time Spa at 140-70 Shawville Boulevard SE on Friday, Jan. 9.

During the appointment, an employee performing the service touched the victim in a sexual manner without consent, investigators say.

Following an investigation, 41-year-old Thanh True Tran, who also goes by Kayla, has been charged with one count of sexual assault.

Tran is scheduled to appear in court in April.
