Police investigating daytime robbery at Market Mall

Calgary police say they’re searching for a suspect after reports of a robbery at a commercial business Friday afternoon.

Calgary police are searching for a suspect after a brazen daytime robbery at Market Mall.

Officers were called around 1:45 p.m. on Friday after getting reports of a robbery at a store in the mall.

CityNews received an email from someone who said their mother and her friends witnessed the incident. According to their account, a masked man armed with a hammer smashed display cabinets before fleeing with jewellery.

Police confirmed a robbery took place, saying only that they are still looking for the suspect.

No injuries have been reported.

The investigation is ongoing.
