Alberta RCMP say human remains discovered during a grass fire south of Calgary earlier this month have been identified, and the case is considered suspicious.
On Feb. 4, around 8:30 p.m., emergency crews responded to reports of a grass fire south of Eden Valley.
Once the fire was out, a burned-out vehicle containing unidentified human remains was found. The body has since been identified as a 24-year-old Calgary man.
Police are looking for help with the investigation.
Specifically, they want surveillance or dashcam video from Feb. 4 between 7 and 8:30 p.m. in Foothills County, on roads near the intersection of Highway 22 and 540. This is south of Longview, near the Bar-U Ranch historic site.
RCMP are also looking for footage of a blue/grey 2022 Dodge Ram pickup with a tonneau cover.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Turner Valley RCMP at 403-933-7227. Anonymous tips can also be made to CrimeStoppers.
