Calgary police are asking for help from the public to identity two men believed to be responsible for an assault outside a bar downtown last month.
Investigators say it happened shortly before 2 a.m. outside The Unicorn pub on Stephen Avenue.
A man was standing outside the bar when he was approached by someone he didn’t know. That man had been kicked out of the bar earlier for causing a disturbance, police add.
The suspect became increasingly aggressive with the man. Several bystanders intervened, according to investigators.
At this time, a second suspect got involved.
Police say the pair assaulted the initial victim, as well as one of the bystanders who tried to intervene, before running away.
They were last seen walking eastbound on 8 Avenue SW.
The first suspect is between 25 and 30 years old, about six feet tall with a slim build, dark hair, and a beard. At the time of the incident, he was wearing black pants, white shoes, and no shirt.
The second suspect is also between 25 and 30 years old, six feet tall, with a slim build. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black ‘Roots’ hoodie, a baseball cap, black pants, and black shoes.
