Blue Jays 50/50 draw expands to Alberta, boosting local baseball programs

Albertans will soon be able to take part in the 50-50 raffle during Toronto Blue Jays games.

Albertans will soon have a new way to help kids get into baseball, thanks to a new agreement that brings the Toronto Blue Jays’ popular 50/50 draw to the province.

A partnership between the Jays Care Foundation and the Alberta government now allows fans in Alberta to purchase Blue Jays 50/50 tickets online during games.

For the first time, money raised in the province, after prizes and administrative costs, will stay in Alberta, supporting local baseball programs and upgrades to diamonds across the province.

The Jays Care Foundation says expanding the draw westward will help more young athletes access the sport and the sense of confidence and belonging that comes with it.

“We are thrilled to welcome fans across Alberta to participate in Jays Care’s league‑leading 50/50 draws,” said James Dodds, Chair of the Board for the Jays Care Foundation. “The proceeds from this expansion will help extend our reach and impact across the province, giving thousands more kids the chance to build character, resilience, and a sense of belonging through baseball.”

Alberta’s government also welcomed the move.

“Jays Care Foundation is already helping Alberta kids get into the game, and now Albertans can support those programs while cheering on Canada’s team through the Blue Jays 50/50,” said Dale Nally, Minister of Service Alberta and Red Tape Reduction.

Tickets for the first jackpot of the season are already on sale at bluejays.com/5050.
