A 14-year-old driving a vehicle in Calgary’s northeast Thursday morning was taken to hospital as a precaution after a single-vehicle crash.

Police wouldn’t say if a licensed Class 5 driver was in the vehicle with the teen, nor who the owner of the vehicle is.

The crash happened in the area of Metis Trail and 80 Avenue NE around 6 a.m.

Roads in the area were closed for an investigation but have since reopened.

The Calgary Police Service says it is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on the non-emergency line at 403-266-1234 or tip anonymously via CrimeStoppers.
