Free discount pass allows Calgarians, visitors to explore attractions

Tourism Calgary is back again with their Backyard Bucket list and Attractions Pass. Rayn Rashid has the details.

Calgarians have a new reason to rediscover their city as Tourism Calgary brings back its ‘Backyard Bucket List’ and Attractions Pass for a third year, offering discounted admission and special deals at some of the city’s top destinations.

Tourism Calgary says the pass includes offers from 10 major attractions, giving residents and visitors a chance to explore everything from science and music to history and outdoor adventure.

Participating locations include the Calgary Tower, Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo, TELUS Spark Science Centre, The Confluence Historic Site, Studio Bell, WinSport, The Hangar Flight Museum, and Gasoline Alley Museum at Heritage Park Historical Village.

“We’re involving 10 of our top attractions and discounts at those various attractions that people can go to and explore,” said Jeff Hessel of Tourism Calgary.

The mobile pass is free to sign up for and unlocks deals. Tourism Calgary hopes the program encourages locals to become ambassadors for the city by experiencing more of what it has to offer.

The pass is open to visitors as well.

“It’s a great way to provide exposure to attractions, give people lots of options of things to do,” Hessel said. “Also, where their interests lie, whether they’re into science or into music, that’s all there.”

Each attraction can be redeemed once per pass, which is active now through Dec. 31.
