35-year-old man charged in stabbing in Calgary’s Dover neighbourhood

A Calgary man is facing charges following a stabbing in the city’s SE which left one man critically injured.

Charges have been laid in a violent assault earlier this week that left a man with serious, life-threatening injuries, Calgary police say.

Officers were called to the southeast community of Dover Monday around 10 p.m. for reports a man had been stabbed on Dovertree Place SE.

He was taken to hospital in life-threatening condition and rushed into surgery.

Attending officers were able to identify the suspect, located him at a home nearby, and arrested him.

Thrity-five-year-old Calgary man Dakota Cody Ermine has now been charged with one count of aggravated assault and two counts of failure to comply.

He is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
