A Calgary man is facing multiple charges after a series of break-ins at a medical supply facility last summer caused significant damage.
Police began investigating on July 24, 2025, after staff at the production site discovered copper piping and custom vehicle rims had been stolen.
Investigators believe a suspect entered the facility several times over the course of a week, removing copper from refrigeration systems that kept lifesaving medical products stable. The damage caused the fridge units to fail, resulting in an estimated $400,000 in losses.
“The damage extended well beyond the theft itself, disrupting the storage of lifesaving medical products and creating real impacts in our community,” CPS Const. Brad Vegso said in a statement.
A tip from a member of the public helped police identify a suspect. Following what investigators described as an extensive review, officers located and charged a man.
Peter Roy Thedorff, 52, of Calgary, is charged with three counts of break and enter and one count of mischief. He is scheduled to appear in court later this month.
