Alberta Sheriffs shut down Calgary home tied to drug activity

A Calgary home has been shut down by the Alberta Sheriffs following an investigation. Rayn Rashid has the details.

Alberta Sheriffs have shut down a southeast Calgary home tied to “illegal drug activity.”

Starting on Wednesday, a court order now requires the house at 1523 51 Street SE to remain closed for 90 days.

The Safer Communities and Neighbourhoods (SCAN) unit began investigating the property last summer — after repeated complaints.

Calgary police later seized drugs and weapons from the home and linked it to multiple crimes in September 2025.

Officials say conditions tied to the order will stay in effect until 2028.
