A large tree toppled onto a parked vehicle in northeast Calgary during persistent rain and wind.
A woman found a tree down on her white SUV early Tuesday morning in the community of Whitehorn in northeast Calgary amid the ongoing storm that has been parked over southern Alberta for days.
Images show the tree sprawled across the hood of the SUV, which was parked in front of her home along a residential street.
The homeowner said she discovered the damage when she woke up early Tuesday morning.
“I open my window, I look at my car. Oh, my God, what’s going on?” she said. “I didn’t know what to do. I had to call 911.”
Emergency crews responded and confirmed no one was injured. The woman said her children were asleep at the time and unharmed.

The damage left her unable to go to work, though she said her employer was understanding.
“They told me, okay, like, we hope you are safe, your kids are safe,” she said. “But my car, it’s, I think, broken down.”
The woman said she has lived in the neighbourhood for five years and has never experienced anything like this before.
The incident comes as a rainfall warning remains in place for Calgary and much of Alberta, with the possibility it could be lifted as early as Tuesday evening.
Environment and Climate Change Canada says between 40 and 120 millimetres of rain has been reported across parts of the province so far, with localized amounts of up to 135 millimetres in southwestern Alberta.
High streamflow advisories remain in place for the Bow and Elbow rivers, which are expected to crest. The Calgary Fire Department is advising residents to stay off riverbanks, noting cold water temperatures and hidden hazards.
