Police release suspect vehicle images after random sexual assault at CTrain station

Calgary police have released security images of a vehicle they believe is connected to a random sexual assault at the Southland CTrain Station earlier this week.
Police say witnesses in the station’s parking lot reported a distressed woman around 1 a.m. on Tuesday who appeared to have been sexually assaulted.
Investigators believe the victim did not know the man who attacked her. She was taken to hospital in stable condition.
Witnesses described the suspect as a man with an accent and dark brown hair. A mid‑sized black SUV with chrome trim around the windows was seen leaving the area at the time of the assault.
“We know that this incident has caused concern for many Calgarians,” says CPS Insp. Travis Baker in a statement. “In addition to conducting increased police patrols, our investigators are using every available resource to identify the person responsible for this random assault.”
Police say they have spent many hours gathering and reviewing CCTV footage from nearby businesses and homes, and are now releasing images of the vehicle believed to be involved.
“We need the public’s help,” added Baker. “Anyone who recognizes this vehicle or has information, no matter how small, is asked to contact police.”
