Low turnout for Provincial Disaster Recovery registration

Only a handful of people filed claims Friday and Saturday at the Cedarbrae Community Centre for non-insurable damage resulting from two vicious summertime storms last July in the southwest Calgary.

The storms hit within a week of each other, damaging homes and businesses on July 20th and July 26th.

Home and business owners who sustained damage not covered by insurance had an opportunity to file a claim at the a Provincial Disaster Recovery Registration Center.

According to the Calgary Herald, those missing last week’s registration sessions can still file a claim by calling 3-1-1 and asking for a registration package.
