Nordstrom opens first Canadian retail store in Calgary

The first Canadian Nordstrom retail store has opened right here in Calgary.
The Chinook Centre location is one of six set to roll out across the country.
660News caught up with Michelle heading into the Calgary store for the first time, but she’s not new to Nordstrom.
“I’ve been to the one in New York and in California so we’re just excited to have it in the city, there’s nothing like this,” she said. “We’re super excited to have Nordstrom here and excited to do some serious shopping.”
Dave said the store is amazing and everything it’s hyped up to be.
“The atmosphere is just amazing, I’ve been to the Nordstrom in Seattle and it’s like this everyday, it’s just incredible,” he exclaimed.
The Ottawa store opens in march, the Vancouver store opens fall 2015, and the three Toronto locations will open in 2016 and 2017.
They started with shoes, now they sell clothing, accessories, handbags, jewelry and other things.
There are 271 stores operating in 36 states.
