Alberta Sheriff’s and RCMP stopped a lot of people with ‘pedals to the metal’ over the long weekend, catching a motorcyclist travelling 204 km/hr on Highway 9 between Airdrie and Drumheller.
This wasn’t the only incident.
Two other motorcyclists were caught going over 200km/hr in southern Alberta.
In fact, officers clocked several other drivers at more than 50km/hr above the posted speed limit, ticketing a number of them near Cochrane.
Police also nabbed a number of drunk drivers on Alberta roads.
Mounties said they are frustrated with driving behaviours, especially with a series of warnings ahead of the Heritage Day long weekend, and year-round cries for driver responsibly.
A full list of statistics from August long weekend enforcement is expected later in the week.
