Calgary couple returns from Woods Canada dream job

A Calgary couple is still settling in after a once in a lifetime journey across Canada.

Melba Seto and Adam Kochanek spent five months travelling 17,000 kilometres of the Trans Canada Trail as the winners of Woods Canada’s ‘Ultimate Summer Dream Job’ to explore the country.

Seto is a dental hygienist that commutes to Fort McMurray, while Kochanek quit his job as an electrician for a trip that gave them some quality time together that the couple says they already miss.

“I don’t get to wake up next to Adam, this is the hardest part I think,” says Seto. “Because we did share such an awesome time together and now we have to back to reality. We work so hard to spend time together, we work shift work, we work hard to finally be together. This Woods dream job gave us the opportunity to spend five months together doing all of the things that we love.”

She says an unforgettable highlight of the trip was the 19 hours spent paddling through the Northwest Territories. The pair has been back home for about a month but they’ve already got their next adventure in mind, as competitors in Amazing Race Canada.
