House prices have edged up in Calgary for the first time in a year.
The Royal LePage House Price Survey released Tuesday, shows the aggregate price of a home in the city rose about 0.6 per cent year-over-year to just over $461,600 in the first quarter of 2017.
Realtor Corinne Lyall says the economy stabilizing in Alberta has helped.
“If you couple that with the lack of inventory in some segments of the market, mostly the single family market, what we’re finding is that you know, there’s some increased demand and there’s definitely some people interested in purchasing right now,” she said.
Bungalows led the way in increases up 2.4 per cent, while two story homes remained fairly level and condos edged down nearly half a point.
