CALGARY (CityNews) – A popular Filipino restaurant has officially opened in Calgary.
Jollibee opened its doors for the first time in Calgary Friday morning at Pacific Place Mall along 36 Street NE.
The fast-food joint serves fried chicken, burgers, and spaghetti and has already opened in Toronto, Winnipeg, and Edmonton.
One man who has waited in line for hours was eager to get inside.
“The taste and the quality of the food is really good but for me, personally, I think it’s more of being able to share with everyone, your loved ones, your family. That’s what attracts it to me even more.”
Reporter Saif Kaiser was live at the grand opening
The chain plans to open 100 locations throughout Canada in the next five years.
Jollibee is offering the first 50 people who spend $25 at its opening a year’s supply of Jolly Crispy Chicken.
