Man dead after apparent stabbing in southwest

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – One man has died after what appears to be a stabbing in the southwest.
Police said they were called to 55 Ave. Near 2 Street just before 3:00 a.m. Thursday.
A fatal stabbing near Chinook Centre. It happened around 3 a.m. on 55th Ave. SW in-between 2nd St. & Macleod Tr. Officers found a man in his 30s lying on the street suffering from stab wounds.
Paramedics were called but the man later died on scene.
Investigators said they do have a person of interest in custody and are hoping anyone with information about the assault will come forward.
Currently, the area from Macleod Trail to 2 Street on 55 Ave. is closed the investigation continues.
