Calgary police apprehend escaped prisoner

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – A prisoner who escaped the Edmonton Institute For Women last week has been arrested in Calgary.

Calgary police say around 7:30 p.m. Friday they received a tip that a woman matching the description was located in Ogden near 76th Avenue and 18th Street southeast.

With assistance from HAWCS, 22-year-old Cierra Childress was taken into custody without incident.

Childress escaped the Edmonton facility last Wednesday, September 16 after she climbed over a fence and fled the area on foot.
