Flames AHL affiliate to play in the Saddledome

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – The Calgary Flames’ AHL affiliate, the Stockton Heat, are on their way to Alberta for their 2020-2021 season.

Due to strict COVID-19 travel restrictions, the Stockton Heat will be staying on Canada’s side of the border for their season.

“We are appreciative of the City of Stockton and the San Joaquin County Public Health Office for the work they put forward in attempt to accommodate the team for this season,” said Flames Assistant General Manager Brad Pascall in a release.

“However, the complications of cross border travel in the face of COVID-19 has brought us to our decision today.”

Now the Heat make the Saddledome their home as the AHL continues to finalize their schedule for a new divisional alignment.

The expected Canadian Division should include Belleville, Laval, Manitoba, Toronto and Stockton.
