CALGARY (660 NEWS) — A family and their pets have been displaced from their home after a fire in the city’s northwest.

Calgary fire crews were called just after 5:30 a.m. on Saturday to the 69 Street NW in the community of Silver Springs.

When they arrived smoke and flames were coming from a single-storey house with an attached garage.

The cause of the blaze is still under investigation, but it’s believed the fire started in the garage then extended into the house.

Two residents and two pets are safe and sound, but the house is significantly damaged.
