Police seek suspect after possible hate-motivated crime

CALGARY — Calgary police are looking to the public for help in identifying a man they say berated a woman and her young child in a possible hate-motivated attack.
On Tuesday, around 11:50 a.m., someone called police saying they witnessed a man verbally attack a Muslim woman wearing a Burka near Sixth Avenue and Eighth Street S.W.
The man is described as being roughly 50-years-old, wearing a turquoise-coloured shirt, and a white hat.

“We are committed to investigating all allegations of hate-motivated incidents,” says Hate Crimes Coordinator of the Calgary Police Service, Senior Constable Craig Collins in a release. “We recognize the lasting emotional impact such offences have on those involved. Our priority is to ensure Calgarians from all communities feel safe in our city.”
There are no photos of the suspect available at this time.
Police are asking anyone who may have information regarding the incident to contact them.
