Calgary Comic Expo gets underway at BMO Centre

CALGARY – A scaled-down Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo gets underway at the BMO Centre Friday afternoon, with safety top of mind.

The expo’s vice president, Andrew Moyes, says organizers have a number of safety rules and recommendations in place to help minimize the risk of spreading COVID-19.

“We’re asking people to buy hands regularly, to keep their distance where they can. We have a large footprint in the BMO Centre and we do have a limited ticket release to allow everyone to explore safely,” he said

“And also we’re asking everyone if you’re not feeling well, to please stay home.”

There’s also a mask mandate in place, so if you do attend, don’t forget to bring your mask.

Celebrity guests this year include Matthew Lewis, from the Harry Potter movies, and Ron Perlman from Hellboy.

If you have a last-minute urge to go to the expo, tickets are still available online or at the door.
