Calgary police say RCMP uniforms and Edmonton Police Service uniforms were stolen from a northwest home on Saturday. Investigators are now asking the public for help in finding them.
Several other items, including RCMP-issue jackets, sweaters, and ball caps were also taken, but police say no weapons or anything that could be used to hurt someone were missing from the home.
While Calgary police have recovered some of the stolen goods, others remain missing.
Some of the items include:
- Soft body armour
- RCMP duty belt containing no tools or ammunition
- Plain clothes firearm holster
- Four RCMP duty shirts, long and short sleeved
- Tactical fanny pack
- Various police patches and shoulder flashes
Anyone with information about the stolen items is asked to contact Calgary police at 403.266.1234 or Crime Stoppers. You can find image examples of all of the stolen items here.
The Calgary Police Service is reminding people if they have concerns about a person identifying themselves as a police officer, they can ask for the officer’s badge number and their photo ID card.
People can also call police non-emergency lines to verify an officer’s identity if they have any worries.
