Cochrane restaurant worker punched over face mask, RCMP search for suspect

Mounties in Cochrane are trying to track down a man they say physically assaulted a restaurant worker over masking requirements.

It happened on Feb. 12 at about 6:15 p.m. at Mr. Mikes Steakhouse along Quarry Street.

The RCMP says a man came in and was asked by an employee to only enter the restaurant if he was willing to wear a mask. Investigators say the man proceeded to then punch the employee in the face.

The worker was not seriously hurt.

The man police are looking for is described as:

  • 35-40 years old
  • Short brown hair with a mustache
  • Approximately 220 lbs with a heavy build
  • Wearing a North Face hoodie, baseball cap and blue jeans

The suspect left in a black truck that has flames down the side of it. He was last seen heading east on Griffin Road in Cochrane.

If you have any information about this you are asked to call Cochrane RCMP at 403-932-2211.
