Calgary drivers might see a lot of cyclists in Bowness and around the city for the ‘Tour de Bowness’ race this long weekend.
The return of the 19th edition Tour de Bowness bike race began on Saturday starting with the road race taking place on Horse Creek Road just outside of Cochrane and making its way through the area, according to Tour de Bowness.
On Sunday, the race will begin at a hill climb on Mackay Road in Montgomery where the fastest cyclists will go up against each other for the winning title.
The bicycle road race will conclude Monday which includes a short circuit across the city streets closed to traffic.
Racers go head to head at speeds of 70 km/hr from Bowness Road, past Bow Cycle, and throughout the community of Bowness, says Tour de Bowness.
