One dead after crash on Trans-Canada Highway west of Calgary

Cochrane RCMP say one person is dead after a serious crash on Highway 1 near Hermitage Road.

Emergency crews responded to the area around 6:45 a.m. Wednesday morning.

The right lane going westbound on Highway 1 was closed, backing up traffic on the road for several hours. However, the crash and resulting volume is now clear.

Police are still trying to figure out what happened, however, they have confirmed that a motorcycle was involved in the crash.
