Calgary gas prices down 25 cents compared to a month ago

Calgary motorists may have noticed some relief at the pumps recently.

The average cost for a litre of regular gas in the city as of Wednesday morning is just under $1.31 — 25 cents cheaper than it was one month ago, when it was about $1.56, according to GasBuddy.

Calgary’s average price is also about 15 cents lower than the national average of just over $1.46 per litre.

Callers told CityNews at the beginning of October some local stations were selling fuel for as high as $1.73 per litre.

Premier Danielle Smith said in November the province would be suspending the entirety of its 13-cents-per-litre fuel tax for “at least” six months and would make the current fuel relief program permanent after that.
