The Calgary Humane Society launched a Valentine’s Day donation campaign to provide gifts for your pet, and it includes making donations to name “some shelter trash” after an ex.
The campaign called “I Chews You” says donations made to the shelter for your pets are in honour of a lover and come with a customizable card.
“For the lovers! Send one of our animals a special Valentine in honour of your sweety!” reads a tweet from the shelter.
“For the singles! Name some shelter trash after your ex!”

The shelter has various gift options for pet owners between $20 and $50, including a treat for reptiles, edible flowers for rabbits, a custom gift for cats, and a “paw-fect” gift for dogs.
In addition, those left scorned by love can donate between $20 and $100 to the shelter for various items, with donation names like “Love Stinks” and “Fully Loaded,” to be named after an ex.
The items include a compostable poop bag, a clean litter box, a “well-used” litter box, and a full trash bag of “shelter waste.”
