Calgary police say a 21-year-old man is dead after he was struck by a CTrain at the Erlton/Stampede Station Friday morning.
Officers were called to the station at around 12:30 a.m. for reports of a serious collision between a pedestrian and a CTrain.
Police say the man was crossing the tracks on the south side and appears to have “slipped and fell.”
He was soon struck and killed.
EMS arrived on the scene and pronounced him dead.
Officers say the train travelled northbound then and the cross signs and lights were operating correctly.
They add the death is considered non-criminal.
At the time, the station was closed but has since reopened.
