One person killed in crash east of Airdrie

One person has died in a two-vehicle crash north of the city late Friday afternoon which completely shut down Highway 567 just east of Airdrie for hours between Range Road 285 and 291.

Mounties say the crash occurred around 4:15 p.m. and the cause remains under investigation.

The identity of the victim has not been released.

The highway was reopened just after 9 p.m.
