Child pulled from Airdrie pond dies

A four-year-old child found in critical condition in an Airdrie pond earlier this month has died, the RCMP said Tuesday.

On Tuesday, Oct. 3 around 6:15 p.m., police received a call about a missing four-year-old in the Kings Heights neighbourhood.

A short time later, the RCMP received a call for a child found in medical distress.

When officers arrived, they found bystanders had taken the child out of a neighbourhood pond and provided medical care until paramedics arrived.

The child was taken to hospital by ambulance.

The RCMP says the four-year-old died from their injuries in hospital on Sunday, Oct. 15.
