Some people in the area of Wednesday's stabbing spree are expressing safety concerns in SW Calgary. Carlene Sorenson finds out their concerns.

Three people were rushed to hospital after being stabbed in southwest Calgary on Wednesday night.

Calgary police say around 6:30 p.m., several people got into a verbal fight in an open area at 1A Street and 61 Avenue SW near Chinook LRT Station.

Investigators believe one of the men involved left the area and then came back a short time later with a knife before stabbing two men who were involved in the initial argument.

The suspect left the scene and was chased and stabbed a short distance away by an unknown man thought to be a part of the group involved in the initial fight.

All three men were taken to hospital with serious injuries, according to police. All of them have since been upgraded to stable condition.

Police say charges are pending against one man and police are still trying to find the fourth man involved in the incident.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to contact police.
