Two people are under arrest following an overnight police takedown involving a spike strip in southeast Calgary.
Calgary police say officers saw a white Dodge Ram with a stolen licence plate on Meridian Road NE near Barlow Trail and 16 Avenue around 10:15 p.m. Monday.
The truck was allegedly speeding and driving recklessly around northeast Calgary before leaving the city to the east.
Police say the truck re-entered the city on Glenmore Trail SW around 11:55 p.m. and was again seen driving dangerously through the southwest.
Officers used a spike strip to take out the tires of the truck at a traffic circle west of the city around 12:40 a.m. The truck continued driving with its tires blown out and re-entered the city before finally coming to a stop around 1:15 a.m. near 36 Street SE and 23 Avenue SE.
Video taken at the scene show a large police presence and the white Dodge Ram truck on its rims, boxed in by two police cruisers.
Two people were arrested at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
