A Calgary police officer is accused of lying and falsifying evidence in a case he was involved in while off-duty.

A Calgary police officer is accused of lying and falsifying evidence in a case he was involved in while off-duty.

On Wednesday, Joseph Barton was arrested and charged with perjury and fabricating evidence.

He was released from custody, but is set to appear in court on March 6.

As the matter is now before the courts, the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) says no further information will be released.
