Calgary police have released more details about a single-vehicle collision that killed one person Tuesday.

Around 9:40 a.m., officers were called to a single-vehicle incident in the northbound lanes of Deerfoot Trail NE, directly beneath the 8 Avenue NE overpass.

Investigators say a 2008 Toyota Camry, driven by a man in his 60s, was travelling north on Deerfoot when it drove off the right side of the road.

The vehicle hit some rocks which caused it to roll and eventually come to a stop on its roof.

Police say the driver was ejected from the vehicle and declared dead at the scene.

At this time, speed, alcohol, and drugs aren’t considered to be factors in the incident.

The circumstances leading up to the crash are still being investigated.

Anyone who may have seen the incident or has dashcam footage is asked to contact police at 403-266-1234 or tip anonymously through CrimeStoppers.
